Sh*t happened 5/30/16: USF bedbugs, idiot shot in foot, sportsy things

Happy Memorial Day! If you're reading this on Monday, and the thing in your other hand isn't a fishing rod, cold beer, water-ski rope or pretty much anything other than your TV remote, you're a sad indoor web-monkey. Go outside. (After you finish reading, of course.)

FRIDAY, MAY 27:

Six classrooms in USF's Muma College of Business had to be closed through the remainder of the summer semester due to a bedbug infestation. Apparently, someone forgot one of the cardinal rules of business — that BEDBUGS ARE BAD FOR BUSINESS.

SATURDAY, MAY 28:

An early morning altercation in the parking garage adjacent to downtown St. Pete's Sundial shopping complex escalated to the point that one of the parties was shot in the foot. This is terrible for American culture, because, for the type of violent troglodyte who starts fights in parking garages at 3 o'clock in the morning, getting shot in the foot qualifies more as "cool story" than "cautionary tale."

After losing to the Yankees 4-1 in Friday night's series opener, the Rays clobbered 'em 9-5 on Saturday. 9 to 5? That's the kind of baseball score that almost makes you want to stop yakking at the bar and look up at the TV every once in a while.

SUNDAY, MAY 29:

And finally, still on the subject of sports, not only is arena football still a thing (?!), but Tampa's also-still-a-thing arena football team, the Storm, ended a season-long seven-game losing streak when they beat the Arizona Rattlers 63-56. 63-56? Football that appears to be modeled after "futuristic" sports played in science fiction movies like Starship Troopers sounds exciting!
