National Singles Day is rapidly approaching, but don’t worry about getting anyone’s number at this singles event.

Pitch-a-friend Tampa Bay is a dating show built around three to five-minute slideshows where someone presents their single friend, highlighting what makes them a great catch and what they are looking for in a partner. At the end of the slideshow is the preferred contact information, complete with a picture.

The one happens this weekend at Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill, located at 1320 Central Ave. in St. Petersburg.

Founded in 2022, Pitch-A-Friend happens frequently on both sides of the Bay, and organizers say the key to a good pitch is honesty, charm and getting personal. The event is open to all sexual preferences.

And it’s not all pitches either. The evening includes a “Single Mingle” time for audience members to connect. Singles wear a sticker provided by the Pitch-A-Friend crew.

There’s no cover for the Pitch-A-Friend dating event happening Friday, Sept. 12 at Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill in St. Petersburg—but it will cost $5 for anyone who wants to do a pitch.

Seating is first-come, first-served, and anyone bringing a large party is asked to contact an organizer ahead of time.
