Last weekend was the city of Tampa's first "Hack-A-Thon," an idea spearheaded by Siobhan Harley, Mayor Bob Buckhorn's Special Assistant. CL reported on that event earlier this week, but we were unable to attend the news conference on Wednesday afternoon revealing who took first place.
We've learned that the first team that we featured in the piece, a team working on a program that would tell HART riders when the next bus will come, took the honors, winning a $1,000 prize.
Meanwhile, what is being called Social Media Day Tampa Bay takes place this Saturday.
Aminta Voyce with Socialleverage1 Media Group says, "Tampa has quickly become a hub for technological development and at this event, a completely new and innovative social media tool will be unveiled that anyone can use to help users create better social media marketing campaigns."
The event takes place at the Double Tree Hotel, 4500 West Cypress Street, Tampa.
