A huge traveling fashion show that spans nine months and stops in more than 150 cities, the 50th Annual Ebony Fashion Fair showcases designers from around the world, among them Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana, Carolina Herrera, Bill Blass and Jean Louis Sherrer. This year's theme, "Glam Odyssey: A Fashion Journey Into Bliss and Beyond," sets the tone for an extravagant retrospective of fasions from the past 50 years — vintage Brioni brocade suits from the 1950s, fringe-beaded dresses by Bob Mackie from the '80s, a Renato Balestra evening gown with "2000" emblazoned across the bodice. The present day is represented by couture eveningwear and a glitzy nod to bridal design. First conceived in 1958 as a means to raise funds for a New Orleans hospital, the fashion fair now benefits charities across the nation. Proceeds from the local show support Derrick Brooks Youth Charities. Mon., Feb. 4, 8 p.m., Mahaffey Theater, 400 First St. S., St. Petersburg, 727-892-5767. $30.
