St. Pete City Council District 4 race gets crowded

Political reporters and bloggers in St. Petersburg looking forward for to an intense battle to succeed Leslie Curran between Darden Rice and David McKalip have another candidate to write and report about - Crescent Lake Neighborhood Association President Carolyn Fries.

In a statement released today, Fries says, “Our city is divided by a number of challenges today. With the right leadership on the City Council I am confident we can work through those challenges and be a city united once again. I’m excited to talk to each and every citizen about common sense, sustainable solutions to these challenges and look forward to sharing my ideas and background with the residents of St. Petersburg and my fellow candidates”.

Fries resides in the Crescent Lake neighborhood of St. Petersburg, holds a mechanical engineering degree from Purdue University and has four children and several technology companies with her husband, David.

(CL has contacted her to learn more about her candidacy. We'll update this post after we speak with her).
