Likely St. Petersburg mayoral candidate Darden Rice is officially boo’d up

She and her wife eloped, then shared the news on social media.

St. Petersburg City Councilwoman Darden Rice wants to do more about the city’s attainable housing problem. She was into saving St. Pete’s historic “Doc Webb” house (it’s, unfortunately, since been cleared for demolition), and you can most definitely find Rice pushing the city to reach loftier sustainability goals that will hopefully benefit the environment.

You can also now consider Rice — who is one of the Bay area's earliest and most visible LGBTQ success stories — off the market.

The likely 2021 St. Petersburg mayoral candidate took to social media on Wednesday to tell that world that she married her partner Eve Epstein. There’s been no reception yet, according to the post, because the couple is waiting for the new St. Pete Pier to be finished.

Could it be the first wedding on the new pier? Maybe?

Is the Tampa Bay area ready to see two openly gay mayors serve on both sides of the Bay? (We hope so, duh.)
