Suncoast Chapter Surfrider Foundation presents the Sixth Annual International Surf Day events, June 19-20

June 19^th 2010 – ISD Concert

Beginning at 3pm and hosted by Surf Shack: Come out and enjoy the best bands on the Gulf Coast! In addition, a ton of donated toss-outs, a live recycled surfboard painting by Cheeta Chad, and an auction for 2 Jack Johnson tickets. The Surf Shack is located at 5210 Gulf Boulevard St Pete Beach, FL 33706-2471 - (727) 367-9898.

June 20th 2010 – Yoga, Beach Clean-up, SUP Demo

9 am – Yoga on the Beach – Wake-up with instructor Mike Meehan. He will share his knowledge and skills during an hour long yoga session on Upham Beach. Please bring a towel and lots of water! Located off Gulf Blvd at 68th Avenue. Drive west to Beach Plaza Road. Upham Beach stretches from 67th Avenue to 71st Avenue.

10 am – Beach Cleanup – Sponsored by Lenny’s Surf Shop: help clean your beach. Prizes will be awarded for most interesting/collected garbage. Do a good deed for the day bright and early! All volunteers will be eligible to win 2 Jack Johnson Concert tickets! Located: off Gulf Blvd at 68th Avenue. Drive west to Beach Plaza Road. Upham Beach stretches from 67th Avenue to 71st Avenue.

12 pm – Meet the Shapers, SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) Demo – Hosted by Suncoast Surfshop. Come try out Suncoast’s newest SUP’s! Located: 9841 Gulf Boulevard, Treasure Island.

About International Surfing Day:

Surfrider Foundation and Surfing Magazine founded International Surf Day six years ago. ISD unites surfers worldwide in surfing celebration. Traditionally, the annual holiday encourages surfers to do their part in giving back to our oceans, waves and beaches. Achievements vary through grass-roots organized events such as clean-ups and restoration projects hosted by the Surfrider Foundation Chapters.
