These spots are supposed to be sexy, yes? Despite a parade of babes in their Hooters-style uniforms, despite the lame attempts at innuendo, the Kerr’s Winghouse ads come off as remarkably sterile. On camera, the women are stiff — delivering their lines as if they’ve just came out of a cryogenic coma — and the production is barely above high-school AV level. The charitable view is that Winghouse is deliberately going for the warts-and-all, we’re-just-real-folks-like-you feel, but in doing so they commit the cardinal sin: If your business is about selling sex, your ads had better be sexy. They’re not. That said, the wings taste pretty darn good. Locations around the Bay area.
