Tampa Bay Abortion Fund launches new pro-choice billboard campaign

Since the initial surge of COVID-19 cases back in March the group says it has experienced a 1033% increase in calls.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tampa Bay Abortion Fund has witnessed a massive increase in calls for services, and now the group is paying for a new pro-choice billboard campaign to help get the word out.

The three new billboards—which say either “1 in 4 women nationwide have had an abortion” or “The majority of Floridians support the right to choose”—and also direct users to the Floridians For Reproductive Freedom website—are located at 2440 SR-580 in Clearwater, 32000 U.S. Highway-19 N in  Palm Harbor, and 5990 Ulmerton Rd in Clearwater. 

The group, which helps give financial and other forms of assistance, such as housing and transportation to women in Tampa Bay, says the billboards are in response to anti-choice messaging that has been popping up in the Tampa Bay area.

"This campaign is another step forward in spreading awareness and providing access to the women of Tampa Bay," said TBAF Board Member Kayla Worthy.
