With primary elections for Florida's State Senate and House of Representatives around the corner, let's hear what the candidates running have to say.
Tampa Bay Tiger Club is hosting a "Legislative Candidate Forum" where candidates to speak to members at The Cuban Club in Ybor City on Friday, July 15. Tickets are available for purchase online and include lunch, but only club members will be allowed to ask the candidates questions during the event. The talk will also air on TBAE.
The candidates confirmed to speak at the forum are:
- Janet Cruz (DEM) - Senate District 14
- Jesse Philippe (DEM) - House District 62
- Michele Rayner (DEM) - House District 62
- Jake Hoffman (REP) - House District 65
- Michael Minardi (REP) - House District 65
- Karen Pittman (REP) - House District 65
- Andrew Learned (DEM) - House District 69
The Tampa Bay Tiger Club is non-partisan political group that hosts open discussion forums that subject candidates to "no-holds-barred" questions spanning across a wide variety of topics. General memberships start at $75 annually and $50 annually if under the age of 30.
The deadline to register to vote on Florida's Congressional Primary Elections is July 25. Early voting will take place from August 8-21 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and mail-in ballots are tentatively set to begin on July 14. Election day will take place on August 23 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
