On Friday morning, Gov. Ron DeSantis lowered the coronavirus vaccine eligibility age to 50 starting Monday, March 22, which means a new crop of Floridians will be lining up to get poked in the arm starting next week.
Tampa Family Health Center (TFHC) wants to help anyone who’s eligible and wanting to get the vaccine get a shot before the upcoming rush.
On Saturday, March 20, starting at 8 a.m. until shots are gone, TFHC is hosting a drive-thru clinic at its location at 7814 N Dale Mabry Hwy. just south of Waters Avenue.
Eligible Floridians include anyone 60 years old and up, frontline health care workers, residents and workers at long term, K-12 educators, and those who fall under the “high risk” category. A full list of those TFHC will vaccinate is available at tampafamilyhc.com along with a list of things you’ll need to bring with you to the clinic (ID, proof of employment if necessary).
Starting at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 22, TFHC will start vaccinating those 50 and older, regardless of medical condition or employment, for free, at its drive-thru clinic happening at 302 W Fletcher Ave. just east of N Florida Avenue.
TFHC will continue to host drive-thru clinics on select days through at least April 2 (see dates below).
