Last Friday CL reported on how business owners in Ybor City were walking around bewildered, complaining about the fact that city workers had begun chopping down numerous trees in the entertainment district, with no advance warning to anyone.
CL put in a call to City Hall for answers, but was told only that a member of the city's parks and recreation department would give us a call back. That did occur — on Monday afternoon.
In all, a total of 110 trees were cut down in the district on Friday and Saturday.
