From the creators of such notable events as Zombie Shopping 2005 (a day-after-Thanksgiving event with participants shopping at various Bay area locations in full zombie wear) and Santacon 2006 (a boisterous gathering of drunken Santa Claus wannabes and mutants) comes Urban Golfing 2007. One part performance art, one part competitive golf tourney gone awry, this Cacophony Society-sponsored activity has participating locals dress up in their most atrocious golf attire, grab a favorite club, and play with foam balls on a course set up at various spots in downtown St. Petersburg. The group tees off at BayWalk Plaza and follows a route that features stops at area watering holes along the way. Free spirits, creative malcontents, merry-makers, culture-jammers, guerrilla artists and any other like-minded individuals are invited to take part. For more info about the society and its unconventional diversions, visit cacophonysociety.org. Sat., July 14, 5:30 p.m., BayWalk, 100 Second Ave. N., St. Petersburg, free.
