In a shocking burst of planning based on your wants and needs, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority wants you to take a survey and tell them about how you view transportation, and your own uses, in the area.

PSTA and Forward Pinellas (a sexy name for the mashup of the Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Pinellas Planning Council) are joining forces to make one giant bureaucratic superhero. OK, so we might be overstating that — but they are partnering to come up with a long-range plan to come up with a public transportation plan that actually, you know, works.

All you need to do is take a 10-minute survey and be honest. Hell, be brutally honest.

We’d like to note that “Making it illegal for anyone but me to drive on the Howard Frankland” is not an option. Apparently. Credit: Screenshot

We took the survey, and it doesn't simply ask about bus transportation (although it is mass-transit heavy, which is understandable); it also asks about the importance of walkable communities, feeling safe walking to the local store, and what kind of downtown you want your town to have. The survey also gives you the chance to add input as to where you feel we need the most traffic improvement and, for those of us who cross Tampa Bay for work, it asks the golden question: "What do you think should be done to make crossing from Pinellas County into Hillsborough County easier?" Finally, the survey also gives you a chance to weigh in on how sea level rise and crime could impact our collective future

At the end of the survey, you'll have the chance to give them your contact information if you'd like to participate in a focus group.
