Now in its third year, this Allman Brothers Band-hosted fest in Live Oak consists of two days of live music and three nights of camping along the picturesque Suwannee River. Jacksonville Jazz Festival

Suwanee River Jam

WSJT-94.1 FM Smooth Jazz Fest

Sunfest
This year's huge, super-eclectic West Palm Beach fest features headliners like Ludacris, Sean Paul, Jonny Lang, Stephen Stills, Todd Rundgren, The All-American Rejects, The Wailers, Huey Lewis & The News and Big & Rich. May 4-7, sunfest.com.
Tampa Bay Blues Fest
Jerry Lee Lewis, George Thorogood, Koko Taylor, Dickey Betts and Percy Sledge are among the big-name acts that headline the latest installment of this Bay area waterfront festival, with a portion of proceeds to benefit the Pinellas Association for Retarded Children. May 5-7, tampabaybluesfest.com.
Tropical Heatwave
An immense gathering of national and local artists of all styles, brought together at Ybor City's Cuban Club, Orpheum, New World Brewery and El Pasaje Courtyard by the good folks at WMNF-FM. Included in the 2007 rundown? The Holmes Brothers, James McMurtry, Hello Stranger and the Paul Thorn Band. May 12, tropicalheatwave.org.
Florida Music Festival
Downtown Orlando gets its metaphorical socks rocked off with this live music, film and visual arts showcase spread over 15 local venues. At this year's event, FMF welcomes more than 250 performers encompassing alternative, metal, pop, country, urban, hip-hop and acoustic genres. The only confirmed act at press time was Flogging Molly, but the lineup will be beefed up in the coming weeks and should draw plenty of Bay area folks to Orlando. May 16-20, floridamusicfestival.com.
JVC Jazz Festival
Miami Beach gets a taste of this traveling festival, which makes a handful of stops around the country and drops in a few weeks earlier than last year. The crowd-pleasing lineup includes Tony Bennett, George Benson, Jamie Cullum, India.Arie, Wayne Shorter, Los Hombres Calientes and Slide Hampton. May 17-19, festivalproductions.net.
Wahoo Festival
Miami celebrates its music and the Everglades with this all-night music and camping festival at the Big Cypress Trail Lakes Campground. Scheduled performers include Suenalo!, Conjunto Progreso, Lanzallamas Monofonica, Monkey Village and the Burnin' Smyrnans, with headliners and other performers yet to be announced. Florida Folk Festival
This yearly event, the 55th annual, brings in a surprising amount of Floridian and national folk talent for a weekend of campin' 'n' pickin' in the middle-of-nowhere Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park. Though no headliners have been announced as of yet, the main draw last year — Roseanne Cash — hints at the talent that can be expected by attendees. JUNE
Suwanee River Jubilee
This gospel music festival at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park features chapel services every morning in addition to performances by artists like Dixie Echoes, Florida Boys, The Crofts and the Chuck Wagon Gang. June 14-17, musicliveshere.com.
OCTOBER
Clearwater Jazz Holiday
The lineup to this year's free jazz festival in Coachman Park won't be announced until August, which means we can only wonder about the musicians who might be in town. The 2006 roster was a bit smooth jazz-heavy with headliners like Kenny G, Mindi Abair and Richard Elliot, but there's no telling which way organizers will swing for the '07 event. The Fest 6
No Idea Records hosts its sixth installment of the late fall indie rock and punk fest, which takes place at various Gainesville venues Oct. 26-28. No word yet on who's performing; check the website for updates. thefestfl.com.
NOVEMBER
Sarasota Blues Festival
The 17th annual event has been moved from the Sarasota Fairgrounds to the field next to the Ed Smith Stadium Complex. Though the single-day schedule hasn't been announced yet, we expect good things; past fests have attracted performers like Gregg Allman, Delbert McClinton, Buddy Guy, Solomon Burke, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, Coco Montoya, Sonny Landreth, Dr. John and The Radiators. Riverhawk Music Festival
Americana, bluegrass and newgrass, acoustic blues, roots rock, rockabilly, folk, gospel, alternative country and many other genres are represented by local, regional and national acts at this annual Brooksville festival. Nov. 8-11, lindentertainment.com.
Ribfest
While some folks may consider the performers at Ribfest to be pale versions of their former selves, the fest is still a fun way to pass some time eating barbecue and enjoying music by the likes of Cheap Trick, The Guess Who and Toto. Nov. 9-11, ribfest.org.
Bang Music Festival
This new, single-day early-November fest takes place in Miami; last year's bill featured a who's who of modern U.S. and U.K. music, from Duran Duran and Daft Punk to Modest Mouse, Gnarls Barkley and Thievery Corporation. bangmusicfestival.com.
Down on the Farm
The North Florida fest celebrated its third year in '06 with a mishmash of talent, from Aquarium Rescue Unit, to Drive By Truckers, to Mofro and Perpetual Groove. Several thousand campers settled in the woods surrounding the stage areas, with a special backwoods stage featuring lesser-known acts that played well into the early morning hours. This year's dates haven't yet been confirmed but based on past fests, it should occur the second weekend in November. downonthefarmfestival.com.

Riverwalk Blues Festival
The downtown Ft. Lauderdale fest celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2007 with music ranging from pure Louisiana zydeco by Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, to blues-soaked hard-rock by guitarist/vocalist/song-writer Tinsley Ellis, to the Latin-flavored Miami dance music of the Spam Allstars. riverwalkbluesfestival.com.
Langerado
This early-March festival attracted some class-A talent for its 2007 edition, with headliners like Trey Anastasio, My Morning Jacket and Widespread Panic. The hangovers are still slowly fading away, so who knows what's planned for next year over in Sunrise? langerado.com.
Winter Music Conference & Ultra Music Festival
This hipper-than-hip dance/electronica get-together goes down every March in Miami, with the Miami Beach Resort & Spa playing host to myriad panels and performances for what is maybe the most important American confluence of cutting-edge electronic talent. Bicentennial Park is the setting for Ultra and scene stalwarts like Paul Van Dyk, Deep Dish and Fatboy Slim were among the top-billed artists at the 2007 event. wmcon.com.
Sarasota Jazz Festival
A fundraiser for the Jazz Club of Sarasota, this fest marked its 27th anniversary in 2007 with a daytime "Jazz in the Park' concert and performances by the likes of Chris Botti, Dick Hyman and The Count Basie Orchestra. jazzclubsarasota.com.
Jazz in the Gardens
This Miami Gardens-sponsored festival celebrated its second year by expanding from one to two days' worth of jazz, R&B and reggae. Attendees to the 2007 fest at Dolphin Stadium enjoyed music by India Arie, Sergio Mendes, Boney James and Paquito D'Rivera, among others. magmusic.com.
Suwanee Springfest
Live Oak's late-March festival spotlights the best of the best in the rural arts. Genres range from country to folk to bluegrass. This past year, highlights were Dan Hicks & the Hot Licks and Jorma Kaukonen. magmusic.com.
Pensacola Jazzfest
For the past 24 years, the nonprofit Jazz Society of Pensacola has presented this family-friendly fest at the end of March to raise money for its programs and scholarships. Performers at the 2007 event included vocalist Kevin Mahoney, guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli and bassist/vocalist Nicki Parrott. jazzpensacola.com.
