A new study finds that access to a gay-straight alliance at a middle or high school provides a number of important benefits — even for students who don't participate. While LGBT teens obviously benefit from the presence of a GSA, all students whose schools have one are less likely to experience depression or drop out, have higher self-esteem, and are more likely to succeed in higher education.
