The giant hole off Little Road in Pasco County is stable and is not a sinkhole.
A deeper ground penetrating radar test showed the depression is supported by stable limestone and shows no indication of uncommon geology, according to county officials.
The hole, which is now 46-feet wide and 130-feet deep, was 38-feet wide and 70-feet deep as of Oct. 8.
The hole is located on the private property of Varsity Club Sports Bar and the Spring Haven Homeowners Association. The private property owners will be working with engineers to fix the depression.
Varsity Club Sports Bar, located at 3523 Little Rd. on the affected land is open after closing for one day in October.
The county says the hole will not have any further impact on Little Road, but one southbound lane of the road will remain closed while the hole is fixed out of an abundance of caution.
While the private property owners work on fixing the hole, Pasco County says no further action from the county is required and that the situation is being handled properly.
