As oil spill continues to sit in the Gulf, Bill Nelson will testify for tighter regulations on oil companies – Senator Nelson will say in a committee hearing today that "the scope of this crisis in the Gulf should prompt the President and all members of Congress to re-examine Big Oil's safety claims."

Restoring US economic world leadership will lead the way to a Triple Bottom Line economy – The US has been surpassed by China as the world economic leader but this does not mean we can not restore our leadership position. Crist calls for special session to focus on the future of oil drilling off Florida's coast – Crist's announcement comes five days after Miami Beach State Senator Dan Gelber, and House Representatives Keith Fitzgerald from Sarasota and Rick Kriseman from St. Petersburg – all Democrats- held news conferences calling for the governor to bring the Legislature together for a special session to then call for a constitutional amendment banning offshore drilling state waters before the voters this November.
