A recent study by the Kinsey Institute found that men are 50% more likely to discard a condom during sex if it isn’t tight enough. Furthermore, loose condoms greatly increase the risk of STDs and pregnancy.
This study was based on a survey conducted by the journal, Sexually Transmitted Infections. Of the 436 men polled, 45% claimed they used condoms that were too large in the past three months. These men were 50% more likely to report condom breaks, slips, difficulty reaching climax, and condom removal halfway through coitus.
The problem is, aside from Magnums which are marketed to men with larger than average penises, most condoms are one-size-fits-all. Variations exist, especially with the rubber's shape, but no company has ever successfully marketed "small" or "medium" condoms. Why, because most men already feel insecure that they aren't buying Magnums.

If you're buying condoms at the store, you have to interpret the subtext of enticing advertising lingo.
