THE CHRISTMAS HOUSE

This St. Pete abode has delighted thousands of visitors since 1977, and the shining spectacle gets bigger each year. Nowadays, a crew of 12 people spend three months installing the display, which features 200 lighted outdoor figures, 60 snowmen, a 150-piece manger scene, artificial snow, a wall of lights, fiber optic forest and much, much more. Hillsborough County's Annual Festival of Lights

Santa Fest and Holiday Parade

The City of Tampa's free holiday festival includes visits with Santa Claus, continuous entertainment, 30 tons of faux-snow, an outdoor ice-skating rink, crafts and much more. The festival occurs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Dec. 3 (Eighth Avenue between Centro Ybor and Centennial Park, Ybor City), culminating with the Krewe of Venus Holiday Parade, which begins at Nuccio Parkway and Seventh Avenue, and heads north along Seventh Avenue, eventually making its way to Palm Avenue, where it disperses. New Port Richey Main Street Holidays

Throughout the month of December, visitors can see a display of lights and decorations adorning local businesses competing in the annual "Light Up Downtown" contest. The fourth annual Riverlights Boat Parade occurs after dark on Sat., Dec. 3. Public seating, refreshments and live entertainment are available to those watching the parade from Sims Park, located on the Pithlachascotee River (River Road and Main Street). The Main Street Holidays run Dec. 9-11 and include daily activities, live entertainment, and a weekend-long carnival and midway. VOLUNTEERING & HOLIDAY DRIVES

RCS Food Bank

The Religious Community Services Food Bank needs volunteers to receive and load food in RCS vehicles (Clearwater High School Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, Nov. 24). Volunteers can also help serve food during the food bank's extended hours (9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) during the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Brighter Season for Children Toy Drive

BSC, a service of The Hospice's AIDS Service Association of Pinellas (ASAP), collects toys and finds sponsors for children and families every holiday season. Metropolitan Ministries
