Rumors, presented by Masque Theatre, begins Saturday, June 2, and continues through June 16, at the Lightfoot Center. Four couple gather to celebrate the 10th anniversary of a married couple in this hilarious Neil Simon play. Everything's great until the couples arrive to find the husband bleeding, while the wife and maid are nowhere in sight. Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday. Write Me a Murder, presented by the Carrollwood Players, begins Friday, June 1, and continues through June 23. Frederick Knott's suspense thriller, a mixture of romance, greed and deceit, keeps the audience guessing as a young writer plots the perfect murder. Comedy
Coconuts Comedy Club, at Howard Johnson, 6100 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach (727-360-JOKE). Tom Simmons entertains the crowd Friday through Sunday, June 1, 2 and 3. Coconuts Comedy Club, at the Cinema Cafe, 24095 U.S. 19 N., Clearwater (727-797-JOKE). Jack Kearney helps you get your giggle on during Friday and Saturday shows, June 1 and 2. The incorrigible Charming Hooligans improv troupe performs every Friday at midnight. Admission costs $5. Show times are at 9:30 p.m. Cover varies (two-drink minimum). Reservations suggested.

Improv Comedy Theater, at Centro Ybor, 1600 E. Eighth Ave., Ybor City (813-864-4000). Cuban/Puerto Rican comedian Angel Salazar is right at home in Ybor through June 2. The funny guy/actor hits the mark with ethnic wisecracks, risque humor and physical comedy. Tickets range from $8 to $14. Tom Simmons offers a couple quickies on Wednesday and Thursday, June 6 and 7 ($8 and $10, respectively). The Charming Hooligans perform at 10 p.m. each Thursday. Tickets cost $8 in advance, $10 at the door. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursday and Sunday; 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday; and 7, 9:30 and 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Side Splitters, 12938 N. Dale Mabry, Tampa (813-960-1197). Lance Montalto, the "Rajun Cajun," continues through June 3. Jimmy Shubert, who's been seen in Go!, Coyote Ugly and a ton of TV shows, appears from Tuesday, June 5, through June 10. Regular admission ranges $5-$12 (depending on the night). Wacky Weaver's, located inside the Brandon Brew House, 779 W. Lumsden Road, Brandon. (813-661-5527). The zany Carl Guerra brightens your life on Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2. Admission is $10, and reservations are recommended.

Poetry & Prose

The following romance authors are signing their books, en masse, at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3: Julie Klapka (Heat); Sandra Bricker (Change of Heart); Christine Cameron (Wild Highland Rose and Christmas Kisses); and Ann Josephson (Coming Home and Enduring Love). Ann Kramer signs and discusses her book, Life Puzzle for Teens, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6. Hours are 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
