Well, at least Christmas lights might have some drawing power inside Tropicana Field.

From Nov. 22 through Dec. 29, event company Enchant Christmas will host the first edition of its nationally touring winter wonderland in St. Petersburg, complete with an elaborate light maze, Christmas market with dozens of local food and gift vendors, ice-skating trail, holiday-themed food and drinks and special VIP opportunities, according to a press release.

“The Rays are thrilled to host Enchant at Tropicana Field during the holiday season,” said Rays President Brian Auld in the release. “Tampa Bay has not seen anything like this before, and it will leave a lasting impression on those who come to experience the holiday magic.”

The theme of this story-driven event is “The Great Search,” a tale in which Santa's reindeer go MIA just before Christmas Eve and visitors can help get them back in time for the big day by searching 90,000 square foot light maze for all nine of Santa’s reindeer.

“Enchant is a one-of-a-kind holiday experience,” said Kevin Johnston, founder of Enchant Christmas, in the release. “The lights, the sounds, the entertainment, the entire experience aims to wrap people in the holiday spirit. Every year I look forward to the awestruck faces as guests walk towards the maze for the first time. It is hard not to crack a smile when you see young and old in wonder — and that is what Enchant is all about.”

Shimmering lights, ice skating and hot cocoa may not be the first things that come to mind in June, but Enchant Christmas is looking to get Tampa Bay into the spirit by offering early bird ticket specials through June 23. Otherwise, adult ticket pricing for the event starts at $19.99.

Those interested in being one of Enchant Christmas’ market vendors, serving as a volunteer, sponsoring the event or putting their social media presence to work as an ambassador, can apply online.

Other Enchant Christmas events will be held in Washington, DC at Nationals Park and Seattle, Washington at T-Mobile Park this year.
