He was supposed to be one of the serious contenders to run against Barack Obama next year. But he's doing nothing in the national polls as of mid-summer of 2011. There's still time for him to make a serious run – but much depends on how well he does in the Iowa caucuses coming up in three weeks, where he trails fellow Minnesotan Michelle Bachmann.
