Two independent PACS sending out negative intel about Kathleen Ford

(UPDATE: Kathleen Ford responds. See below) There are two separate independent political action groups sending out negative information to St. Pete voters about Kathleen Ford, who is battling Bill Foster and Rick Kriseman in the race for St. Pete mayor in the Aug. 27 primary.

Blogger Peter Schorsch has helped create the Committee to Stop Kathleen Ford, and GOP consultant Anthony Pedicini (a Schorsch ally) heads the Committee for Progressive Values.

Schorsch created a website, StopKathleenFord.com, which includes clips from various news stories, all of which aren't the most flattering to the former councilwoman and now three-time mayoral candidate. The mailer (shown here) was sent by Pedicini's committee and it references Schorsch's website, indicating the two groups are in cahoots.

Schorsch has been quite vocal on his blog about how he wants to stop Ford from making it into the runoff.

He said his Committee to Stop Kathleen Ford has mailed out three separate e-mail alerts from the "Ford files" that have gone to 13,000 early voters.

CL contacted Kathleen Ford for comment. Instead of responding to these new PACS, she simply responded, "There are millions and millions and more millions of taxpayer dollars at stake in this race for Mayor."
