After about 45 minutes, the group walked back down Tampa Street against traffic. Law enforcement officials went along until the group reached Tyler Street. They told them that it was no longer safe, and that they needed to take a different route.
Protesters and police officers stared each other down.
The face-off lasted about 20 minutes with the protesters silently glaring at officers. Officials eventually decided to let them proceed after they re-routed traffic on Tampa Street to the interstate. The face-off caused a backup on the exit from I-275.

The event ended peacefully at Romneyville, the encampment by the Army Navy Surplus Market on Tampa Street.
