Updated Swinger Wars: Nudists and the swingers who infiltrate nude resorts

Most nudist don't want to associate their lifestyle with swingers.  Being a nudist doesn't make you a swinger, and being a swinger doesn't make you a nudist.  I enjoy being nude myself, but only in the bedroom and not while drinking at a club or playing tennis. The only reason swingers have flocked to nudists resorts is because nudists claim to be a community of open minded people who accept alternative lifestyles.  Not all swingers are going to behave inappropriately by having sex on the bar stool next to you, and not all will attempt to pick you up simply because you're walking around the pool naked.  Swingers want to mingle in a safe environment just as nudists do.

The swinger population has brought a substantial amount of business to the community,  giving resorts like Caliente a boost during this economic downfall.  The fact that this issue is still swirling around the media is disheartening.

Get over it already nudists!

On the radio this morning, 97X attempted to broach the long running feud between nudists and swingers at Caliente (a clothing optional resort).  Although Fisher and Seth were only able to pull in one caller who would talk about her nudist parents and grandparents, the issue is an ongoing issue for many in the nudist community.   I was sad to see it get so little attention.

Swinger groups host parties at Caliente on a regular basis.  The parties are normally sexy in nature and tend to be quite popular within the swinger community.  As local code enforcers have pushed swingers out of club after club, many lifestyle parties have moved to nudist resorts, but swingers have been frequenting nudist resorts for years.  The fact that regular parties are now being hosted in establishments such as Caliente is only a result of the swinger lifestyle becoming more prominent and somewhat more accepted. It's also a consequence of places like Caliente trying to broaden their consumer base.
