$4.1 billion: The amount that will be spent on jewelry gifts for Valentine’s Day. In addition, $3.5 billion will be spent on an evening out, $1.8 billion on flowers, $1.5 billion on candy, $1.4 billion on clothing, and $1.1 billion on gift cards.

1.5 billion: The approximate number of flowers that will be shipped on and around V-Day, along with around 100,000 pounds of chocolate.

$277 million: What Americans will spend on Valentine’s Day cards. Hallmark claims that around 200 million cards are given each V-Day, not including the card packs marketed to school children.

39,897: The number of people who participated in the world’s largest group kiss in Mexico City in 2010.

87 per second: The number of condoms used in the U.S. on V-Day, according to LifeStyles Condoms.
