So, first of all, according to Politico, he approached the podium as Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World" played, which is basically tantamount to Lee Greenwood's terrible "Proud to be an American" blasting (non-ironically) at an Occupy rally.

But Donald Trump probably didn't know that, or care, as he declared that he would be "the best jobs president God ever created."

He slammed the current candidate lineup as well as the Washington establishment in general as incapable of making America "great again," slammed the Obama Administration over immigration and the Pacific trade deal and touted his bloated finances as a key qualification.

“I’m really rich,” Trump, a Republican, said, which he suggested could help make the country rich. “I’m not being crass.”


So, yeah.

Obviously there were some very rapid yet hilarious responses from across the internet. Our favorite so far comes from DNC national press secretary Holly Shulman, who gleefully trolled the Don.

"Today, Donald Trump became the second major Republican candidate to announce for president in two days," she said in a written statement. "He adds some much-needed seriousness that has previously been lacking in the GOP field, and we look forward to hearing more about his ideas for the nation."

Trump is the 12th Republican to announce his candidacy, though many more are believed to announce a run soon.

As you might imagine, as he made his announcement Tuesday, Twitter blew up, probably even moreso than when Jeb! Bush announced his candidacy Monday.
