Yup, we've got shortage of meat-free eats.

Here’s a listicle that local veg-heads can get behind: Tampa ranks among the top 20 cities for vegetarians and vegans.

Oft-cited personal finance website WalletHub has compared the 100 largest U.S. locales to determine where Americans following a plant-based diet should put down roots, and Tampa finished at No. 12.

The study shows that Tampa trails behind other popular destinations like New York, Portland, Orlando, Seattle and San Francisco, but, hey, it’s not by much.

WalletHub used 16 key indicators of vegan- and vegetarian-friendliness to reach its findings, including cost of groceries for vegetarians and share of restaurants serving vegan options.

Interestingly, St. Petersburg received the much-too-low-for-our-liking ranking of 63rd. What’s up with that?
