✔️ Monday Night Jazz Series: Moanin’: A Tribute to Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers In the late ‘40s, the late (and great) Art Blakey formed a big band called 17 Messengers. The ensemble would go through a handful of different mutations over the years, and now, almost three decades after Blakey’s death, USF’s faculty jazz ensemble will join forces with dummer Eddie Metz and saxophonist Mike Tracy to pay tribute to the Messengers’ 1958 Blue Note classic, Moanin’.
