Community-led Hillsborough County transit initiative All for Transportation has revealed the 10 most dangerous intersections in the county, and claims it has a plan to make the area's roads safer to drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians alike.

According to reports by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the top three most dangerous intersections in Hillsborough County are along a three-mile stretch of Waters Avenue West. Data collected between May 2017 and August 2018 reveals an average of one accident a day here — and that more than 20,000 people are injured or killed on Hillsborough County roadways each year.

Here are the 10 most dangerous intersections in Hillsborough County, according to the HCSO:

Sheldon Road and Waters Avenue West

Anderson Road and Waters Avenue West

Waters Avenue West and Hanley Road

Hillsborough Avenue West and Sheldon Road

HWY 301 South and Gibsonton Drive

Waters Avenue West and Himes Avenue North

HWY 301 South and Big Bend Road

Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Fletcher Avenue East

Bloomingdale Avenue and Bell Shoals Road

Bloomingdale Avenue and Providence Road

All for Transportation is a grassroots effort that succeeded in putting a referendum on the November ballot that would ostensibly OK funding for a wide variety of solutions to Hillsborough County's many, many traffic woes.
