Last week, Tampa's Best of the Bay-winning Hey Giant! announced some "big news" for its little biscuits. The popular Seminole Heights biscuit house by day and learning center by night — which has set out to cultivate creativity and community since 2016 — plans to expand with a second location in South Tampa.

The forthcoming shop, aiming to launch sometime in September, is almost ready at 3201 S. Dale Mabry Highway, where The Vine Baking Co. shuttered in late June.

"We're excited to announce that we will be opening a second location in South Tampa next month! We're nearly finished getting everything in place!" wrote Hey Giant! on its Facebook page on Aug. 29. "We'll be located at 3201 S. Dale Mabry. Stay tuned to our Facebook feed or Instagram for a schedule of preview pop-ups starting next week!"

Luckily, the following day, locals who couldn't wait to check out Hey Giant!'s South Tampa location scored an early sneak peek. Free coffee was on hand during the pre-preview pop-up, as were $5 boxes of those fresh biscuits made from scratch.

Does it get much better than that?
