The Pauses w/Deadaires/Broken Things This show has good vibes all over it. Former Against Me! Bassist Andrew Seward played on some of our favorite records (White Crosses, Franz Nicolay’s To Us, the Beautiful!) and former True North frontman Ryan Murphy is our favorite north Florida do-gooder. Together with drummer Jeremy Rodgers, the boys recorded an uplifting self-titled debut album that straddles the line between post-hardcore, pop and straight ahead rock. Guitarist Alan Mills helps bring it to life for live sets, and Deadaires will be joined by a central Florida favorite (The Pauses) plus St. Pete punks Broken Things at this early show. Zoë Lewis Some may recognize her as a member of UK Latin jazz collective Avanti, but Zoë Lewis makes noise with her Rubber Band these days. The Brighton native uses a bevy of instruments (think ukulele, piano and even the spoons) to whip up a vaudevillian brand of gypsy folk and swing. The NorCal producer made us look with his name (you can decide on its originality), so we’re here to tell you that Chung will continue the Amphitheater, err Ritz, tradition of bringing dubstep acts to help move the youngins who gather at the club every Friday night. Keys N Krates It’s only been two years since crazed fan Christina Platt ran onstage butt-ass naked, but we’re pretty sure that Keys N Krates will never, ever forget or leave Tampa off of their annual tour itinerary. The Toronto-based livetronic trio first cut their teeth in this town with sets at Blue Martini (which is closing in a few weeks), and they return to the scene of the nude stage crasher on Friday for a set supporting last year’s Midnite Mass EP, which has garnered well over a million spins on Soundcloud alone. Livingston Taylor w/Chelsea Berry He’s from a musical family (older brother “Stringbean” James is a pretty big deal) and has had a guitar in his hand since 13 years old, so Livingston Taylor is seasoned for the stage. To celebrate his 50th year of making music, Taylor, 66, comes to Largo supporting his 18-piece discography (and Top 40 hit “First Time Love”). January 13-15, Gibtown Bike Fest w/Greg Billings/Marshall Tucker/Black Honkeys Greg Billings’s Friday show at the Capitol Clearwater is sold out, so hardcore fans who weren’t devoted enough to get a ticket in advance could pile onto the bike and head to Gib-son-town on Saturday when Billings plays just before Marshall Tucker Band.
