Pink Martini w/Storm Large China Forbes was supposed to sing lead at this Pink Martini gig, but a torn rotator cuff had other plans. No worries though, as Forbes’ bandmate Storm Large has stepped up to try and blow to roof off as the orchestra dishes classical, Latin, jazz and pop for faithful fans. ✔️ Black Rebel Motorcycle Club w/Night Beats It’s been a rough few years for Los Angeles’ Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The band lost longtime tech (and bassist Robert Been’s dad) Michael Been in 2010, and drummer Leah Shapiro’s Chiari malformations forced her to undergo brain surgery four years later. Everything’s on the up and up now, and the band arrives in support of a brand new album, Wrong Creatures, where its signature garage-noir sound feels more muscular than ever. Read our interview with Shapiro and her puppy via here. (The Ritz, Ybor CIty) INFO

WRONG CREATURES, DEAD BIRDS
Interview: Before Ybor show, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's Leah Shapiro talks pups, dead birds, Wrong Creatures and more

Dorothy Los Angeles-based alternative rock band Dorothy have released A new track "Flawless", last week. It's the first single from the band's forthcoming sophomore album 28 Days in the Valley. It's a vulnerable message that begins with heartbreak and ends as a vindicated feel good anthem of self-love."It's about an ex who really did a number on me," frontwoman Dorothy Martin, said. "This one came fast to me. It was very subconscious... like I'm channeling them. Linda Perry pulled the lightness out of me, both personally and musically. This record is definitely still bold, but it's happier. It's kind of like the butterfly coming out of the cocoon." (Orpheum, Ybor City) INFO

✔️Stove. w/Yankee Roses/Brook Pridemore/Alexis Snikt/John Allen Brooklyn, Hotlanta and New York City drop into St. Pete's Fringe district tonight when Brook Pridemore, Yankee Roses and Alexis Snikt visit Planet Retro Records for a night of phreaky pholk, uke-jams and intricately-picked acoustic tunes. (Planet Retro Records, St. Petersburg) INFO
