Expect to hear new msuic when Tampa’s Holy Terror hits the outside stage of Tampa Heights’ Shuffle, with tons of socially-distanced seating.
“We’ll be playing a good portion of stuff from our new album, HT2: L’atrocite du Jour, some older stuff, and a brand new song called ‘Piety’ that plays around with a Latin/gypsy jazz feel,” the band’s mastermind and musical anomaly John Nowicki said in a recent chat with Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.
If you are not a Francophile, the album name translates to "today’s atrocity" referring to 2020 as a whole and is described on Holy Terror’s Bandcamp page as “ ...a collection of songs that attempts to portray the experience of watching inner and outer worlds collapse.” So yeah, we can relate.
However, there are a couple of pandemic-induced lineup changes. Keyboard player Troy Cedeno is temporarily sitting out.
“Sean Pomeroy is playing bass, and Owen Meats, who used to play bass, has rejoined as a third guitarist,” Nowicki added, “I’m also switching from acoustic to electric guitar to keep up with everybody, so there will be a small army of electric guitarists onstage.” Scott Lavan Miller, Pete Nuffer, trumpeter Kenny Pullin and cellist Melissa Grady round out the all-star cast.
