“Doubt: A Parable” opens at downtown Tampa’s Straz Center Shimberg Playhouse this week and runs through April 5. That means you have plenty of time to indulge in the Pulitzer and Tony-winning dramatic thriller complete with scandal and one determined school principal who tries stopping a creepy school priest from having inappropriate relations with students. The dialogue in “Doubt” is enough to warrant your attention, but there’s also a 2008 movie starring Merryl Streep and Viola Davis if you need the CliffsNotes.

March 11- Apr. 5. $29.50. Shimberg Playhouse at David A. Straz Center, 1010 N. MacInnes Place, Tampa. local.cltampa.com
