Pre-Turkey Day Live Music; Williams Park Live, Turkey bowling, Dolly talks and more Turdrunken shenanigans

We can't guarantee that you won't see your ex at one of these shows.

The holidays are here, and that means all your old high school friends are back in town. We can't guarantee that you won't see one of them at one of these shows, but we can be certain that your family will be grateful if you take them to one of these live music events.

Gear up for the camaraderie below.

Williams Park Live! w/Set and Setting/Shua Dafaq? There's a movement to showcase downtown St. Pete's Williams Park as world class outdoor venue, and we're not going to argue with their talent choice for today's free outdoor concert. A pair of hometown acts (post-rock gigantes Set and Setting, plus Oxford & Nolands Shua Harrell) will provide the sounds, and if you haven't looked outside today, then know that's it's beautiful. Go ahead and leave work early for this. Listen to Set and Setting's new single here. (Williams Park, St. Petersburg) INFO

Phonogenics 101 feat. Dolly Parton's Jolene Just in time for the queen's Thanksgiving weekend show at Tampa's Amalie Arena (check out our preview here), local songwriter and all around good dude Jeremy Gloff invites Dolly Parton fans to a Seminole Heights studio for a discussion about Parton's 1974 LP Jolene. (The Disco Dolls Studio, Tampa) INFO

Puddle of Mudd Nothing against Puddle of Mudd, but fans really hoping to see the band work through “Blurry” need to know that several of the rock shows booked at this Channelside night spot have been cancelled after our previews hit the press (today's show still looks to be on). Singer Wes Scantlin’s onstage behavior has been erratic over the last year, too, so maybe give the place a call before you head out? (District 3, Tampa) INFO

Turkey Bowling w/Little Sheba & The Shamans Mom said never play with your food, but Ella’s is not the momma. Just days before we stuff freakishly copious amounts of food down our esophagi the Seminole Heights favorite invites you to come throw a turkey using a frozen turkey. Bay area garage rockers Little Sheba & the Shamans will soundtrack the good times. (Ella's Americana Folk Art Cafe, Tampa) INFO

Ol' Dirty Sundays 5th Annual Drunken Turkey Fry Ol' Dirty Sundays on a Wednesday? Chea! Venue manager/co-owner Tom DeGeorge is dropping a bird, and ODS residents are dropping beats while B-boys, artists and Jamaican catering company Jam Dish do their own special tings for the special edition of the hip hop, soul, reggae and R&B weekly. Doors are at 10 p.m., but get there early to get in on the $5 plates of tryptophan-y goodness. (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO

Dave Decker & Russ Van Cleave + Pre-Turkey Day Throwdown w/Gritt/Poetry N’ Lotion/Gat & Cris/DJ Rebelle Wednesdays are always tasty at New World Brewery, and this pre-Turkey Day affair is especially so. The first half of the evening finds Tampa songwriter Dave Decker un-banned from the venue for a stripped-down acoustic set, and the bar will turn into a whole 'nother kind of Turdrunken mess when a menagerie of psych-rock (Gritt) melts into some fine hip hop (Gat & Cris), heady instrumentals (Poetry N' Lotion) and choice cuts from DJ Rebelle.
