Eccentric actor Nicolas Cage will play the equally eccentric Joe Exotic in an upcoming scripted TV series based on the hit Netflix docuseries “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness."
As first reported by Variety, the unnamed eight-episode show will be produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios, and similar to the original Netflix series, is based on Leif Reigstad’s Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild.”
Cage isn’t the only big name signed onto the project, the writer, showrunner and executive producer will be Dan Lagana, who you may know as the guy behind the Emmy-nominated Netflix dick-drawing series “American Vandal.”
As of now there’s no word on what platform or streaming service the show will debut on.
This series isn’t to be confused with the “Tiger King” show starring Kate McKinnon as Tampa's Big Cat CEO Carole Baskin, or the other one Rob Lowe is also working on.
