After two years of providing St. Pete with dressed up turkey legs and fat plates of meat, Red’s BBQ food truck now has a permanent location.

The Red’s truck is now parked at 3325 Fifth Ave. N., the former home to Kenwood Organic Produce, which moved out last December.

In an interview with Tampa Bay Times, owners and brothers, Christian and Joshua Jackson, said they are debating on whether to utilize the building space as a restaurant or transform it into a community center offering things like family arts and crafts nights or cooking classes.

The truck is known for its variety of turkey legs, like the “Kicked Up Leg,” “Garlic Park ‘N Shrimp” and “Not Yo Daddy’s Crabby Leg” stuffed with crab mac ‘n’ cheese, parmesan and Red’s seafood spice blend.

Other barbecue plates include St. Louis “Candy” Ribs, wings, steak and cheese sub, plus both pulled turkey or a pulled pork po'boy. Sides include classic mac as well as “dirty” crab mac, baked beans, and dirty rice. Lunch specials include pulled pork/turkey with one side and drink for $7. Might want to loosen your belt before shoveling it all in.

The truck is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Tue.-Sat. (or until sold out).

Until then you can grab your fat platter of barbecued meats at Red’s food truck stationed right out front of the forthcoming storefront. Don’t forget to bring your mask—and a bib.

More details to come as plans develop.
