Gulfport may be small, but the city does recreation in a big way. At the rec center on the corner of 58th Street and Shore Boulevard, you can find an activity or program for nearly every interest: tennis, yoga, watercolor, karate, gymnastics and fencing, as well as part-time preschool, after-school care and open basketball. Nonresidents have to pay a little more, but the rates are still reasonable.
