Crowbar’s concert calendar—like many at independent venues across the country—was ravaged in the fallout of the coronavirus pandemic, and it’ll be months until it even resembles itself again.
In the meantime, locals are driving the car, and this first “Road to Reopen” show back features surf-noir band FayRoy, rappers Acyh, Queen of Ex and Sam E Hues, plus songwriters Shawn Kyle, Mountain Holler and Lauris Vidal.
Tampa hip-hop godfather DJ Sandman (pictured) was even added to handle the ones and twos.
What’s more is that no cash will be taken at the door, and the first opportunity to buy tickets to the shows went to folks who donated money for commemorative T-shirts that helped put money in the pockets of Crowbar’s out-of-work bar staff. The first two concerts will also be live-streamed, and more information is available on the venue’s Facebook page.
