Tonight in live music; Forq and Lucy Woodward at Crowbar, Sorority Noise's Cam Boucher at Mojo and more

Forq w/Lucy Woodward Another pearl of a show from our Spring Arts preview floats to the surface on Monday when Forq — a New York-based instrumental quartet featuring members of Snarky Puppy (bassist Michael League, guitarist Chris McQueen) joining drummer Jason “JT” Thomas (Roy Hargrove, D’Angelo) plus David Bowie and Empire of the Sun keyboardist Henry Hay — plays a show just days after Miami’s burgeoning GroupUP Festival wraps up in Magic City. There was a time when Snarky Puppy played the Crowbar, and while Forq feels like a for-fun project, there’s a good chance it’ll outgrow this room, too. Lucy Woodward — who has collaborated with Snarky Pup — opens the show. (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO

The Pearls of Concert Season

Cam Boucher Did you miss Connecticut emo-revivalists Sorority Noise opening for Citizen in Ybor City last November? Are you bummed that the band is not going to play Tampa in 2018? No sweat since frontman Cam Boucher is going to play a solo set at this relatively tiny North Tampa bookstore and record shop. Tickets were about all disappeared by the time we sent this to the printer, so you might want to check out Mojo’s Facebook page to see if there’s any room for you to squeeze in and still hear “A Brief Dissertation On a Night Spent Talking in a Boston Accent” (and other hits).
