Hockey is a great reason to skip work, and the choice to play hooky is even easier when your home team is one of the best in recent NHL history and headed to the Stanley Cup playoffs.

That’s why outgoing Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Tampa Bay Lightning legend Vinny Lecavalier are inviting Bolts fans — who’ll hopefully wear Lightning gear — to help hoist a support banner on the side of the Tampa Municipal Office Building located at 306 E. Jackson St. in downtown Tampa.

It all goes down on Monday, April 8 at 11 a.m. EDT.

Thunderbug and the Lightning Girls will also be there, and the NHL has even booked a free, April 10, concert by Cage the Elephant to add to the playoff hype.
