Water Wise Workshop

The Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences conducts classes on water conservation during the dry summer months. Workshops are free, however attendees have the option of purchasing a micro-irrigation kit for $10 and/or a rain barrel for $15. Classes are limited to 30 households, so registration is required. Dalmatians in the Park

Dalmatian Rescue of South Florida is having a picnic to raise money and supplies for abandoned animals. The fundraiser includes food, live entertainment and a doggy treasure hunt. Takes place at Lake Park, 17302 N. Dale Mabry, Lutz. Cost is $6 per person and donations of the following items are encouraged: blankets, sheets and dog-care cleaning products. Reserve by June 20. Volunteer at Hospice Thrift Shop
The Hospice of Florida Suncoast is seeking volunteers to help run The Hospice Thrift Shops in Pinellas County. The locations include 1478 S. Belcher Road in Clearwater, 6302 66th St. N. in Pinellas Park and 780 S. Pinellas Ave. in Tarpon Springs. Call 727-586-4432.

Special Friends Needed
The Permanency Support Program seeks male and female volunteers 30 and older to match with abused and neglected children between the ages of 3 and 11. The purpose of the program is to build children's trust and to provide emotional support through social interaction with caring adults. Call 727-538-7460

Anger Management Workshop Marriage and Family Center, a nonprofit organization, is sponsoring a free two-part workshop focusing on anger management. Attendees learn to identify the warning signs and stages of anger and get helpful ideas about managing anger more effectively.
