The Cross-Bay Ferry will return in November to shuttle folks between St. Pete and Tampa's respective downtowns, following the Pinellas County Commission's vote to toss in the final $150,000 needed to make it a thing again. Critics pointed out that the parking lot by the old St. Pete Pier is no longer viable, which may cause parking issues when the ferry docks near the Vinoy instead; others countered with the unarguable fact that parking in downtown Tampa is an unalloyed nightmare all the time anyway.
Remember the shark-dragging assholes? The court case for the two remaining defendants has been pushed back yet again in the hope that everybody will just forget about it and these two entitled manchildren won't have to be held accountable for their actions. #neverforget
A Tampa woman has been implicated in a string of baby formula thefts throughout the west central Florida region. "Stealing from the rich to sell to the poor," sounds close the good thing, but it isn't, really. Not at all.
It's been a while since we did a WalletHub data thingie, so let's go with the new one saying Florida is the 9th worst state in the nation for women's equality. That's... well, that actually sounds about right, given a red legislature in a purple state that still has plenty of, shall we say, "tradition-conscious" areas. Who did worse? The usual suspects, and surprise loser Idaho. What's up, Idaho?
And finally, the Tampa Bay Rays, a baseball team with a wildly inflated sense of self-value, beat the KC Royals 4-1 while tying a team record for consecutive shutout innings, which, OK, fine. Yay!
