The University of Tampa’s Master of Fine Arts program continues its Lectores series of public readings with a visit from author SJ Sindu.
Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Massachusetts, Sindu is the author of the novel Marriage of a Thousand Lies, selected by the American Library Association to be a Stonewall Honor Book, and the fiction/nonfiction-hybrid chapbook, Once Met You But You Were Dead. A 2013 Lambda Literary Fellow, Sindu holds a PhD in Creative Writing from Florida State University, and currently teaches at Ringling College of Art & Design.
Named after Lectores de Tabaqueres, men that would read to cigar factory workers as they rolled, UT hosts the Lectores series in January and June, allowing authors and artists to perform their works publicly.
A Q&A will follow the reading.
