Peaceful teachings

LECTURE

Fifteen years ago, Arun Ghandi, the fifth grandson of Mahatma Ghandi, took his grandfather's nonviolent philosophy to Memphis, Tenn., to start the M.K. Ghandi Institute. Since then, Arun has promoted peaceful principles locally and globally, from offering school conflict resolution programs in Memphis to urging Palestinians to resist Israeli occupation without resorting to aggression. He brings his peaceful teachings to USF St. Petersburg this week in a lecture, "Lessons Learned from Grandfather," which is followed by a question-and-answer session. Wed., Nov. 29, 6:15 p.m., USF St. Petersburg Campus Activities Center, 140 Seventh Ave. S., St. Petersburg, free admission, 727-873-4872.
