Whitney Houston tribute, Chief Keef and the Rock and Roll Hi-Fives in the mix, too.

✔️ Pandit Nayan Ghosh w/Ishaan Ghosh/Shankh Lahiri You don’t have to travel very far to go to the Far East. In fact, just hop the bus to Carrollwood’s Hindu Temple, where one of India’s foremost tabla and sitar players — Nayan Ghosh, the son of renowned maestro “Padmabhushan” Pandit Nikhil Ghosh — will join his own son (Ishaan, a brilliant tabla player on his own) and Tampa’s very own Shankh Lahri for an afternoon of otherworldly sound. (Hindu Temple Auditorium, Tampa) INFO

Jim Chambers Music Box Presents: Hot Lava w/Rock and Roll Hi-Fives/Sick Hot/more The New Jersey-based family band tours in an RV and is made up of 16-year-old Eilee Centeno, her 13-year-old brother Evren on drums, and their mom and dad on bass and guitar, respectively. The kids have been playing music together since both were old enough to form words and have even opened for acts like Snail Mail, A Giant Dog, and Bay area favorite Quintron & Miss PussyCat. This Northwest Tampa show is in support of the band’s debut LP, Re-introducing The RocknRoll Hi-Fives. (Wild Rover Brewery, Tampa) INFO

✔️ The Greatest Love of All: The Whitney Houston Show starring Belinda Davids South African vocalist Belinda Davids is tasked with taking on the Whitney Houston catalog for this two-hour tribute show complete with dancers plus a touring light and sound rig. Do you want to dance with somebody who loves you? Be at the Mahaffey on Saturday. (Mahaffey Theater, St. Petersburg) INFO

Baychella w/Chief Keef/Sparxx Figuero/C Bane/more My former editor, Jay Cridlin of the Tampa Bay Times, said it best when he reminded local hip-hop fans to “ bear in mind, [that Chief Keef] has canceled way more shows in Tampa Bay than he’s actually thrown.” So, it’s with caution that we mention this “Baychella” appearance from the 22-year-old Chicago rapper, who was a big reason the Windy City’s drill-rap sound ended up going coast-to-coast. This would be Mr. Keef’s first Bay area show... if it happens. (The Ritz, Ybor City) INFO

Wolf-Face w/Dave Decker/You Vandal A trio of long-running, loved and well-worn Florida punk bands — Dave Decker of Tampa’s Sandspur City, Wolf-Face from St. Petersburg and Gainesville’s own You Vandal — tone it down and unplug for the acoustic set. Don’t expect a VH1 Storytellers vibe, though, since every one of these acts is known to put on a wild show when the amps are on. Free to attend, but bring money for brewskis. (Green Bench Brewing Co., St. Petersburg) INFO

✔️ Lea DeLaria She’s best known as “Big Boo” on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, but Lea DeLaria will give fans two shows' worth of jazz at The Attic in Ybor City (the 60-year-old vocalist was the featured vocalist at the 50th Anniversary of the Newport Jazz Festival and has released five solo albums). It’s been over a decade since DeLaria was on Broadway, but we wouldn’t be surprised if we heard something from Hair or The Rocky Horror Picture Show at this one. (The Attic at Rock Brothers Brewing, Ybor City) EARLY SHOW / LATE SHOW

✔️ Kee Avil w/Ortrotasce/Fjshwjfe Is The Bends good for one great indie-pop show a week or something? The space — which just hosted Detroit wunderkind Hala — is looking even further north on Saturday when Montreal’s Kee Avil brings her one-woman avant-pop sound (her self-titled 2018 EP is a freaky-folk mindfuck) for a free show alongside another set of sonic tinkerers (Portland duo Ortrotasce, whose Bandcamp includes more than a dozen releases of minimalist cold-wave synth-pop) and the Bay area’s own Fjshwjfe. (The Bends, St. Petersburg) INFO

I Am Convicted Fest w/Jonny Crowder/Vouloir/For The Best/Hexproof/Introvert/Nullify The Noise/187/Head High/Gutcheck/more This day-long concert used to be called Freedom Fest, but not for ‘merica. The event raises funding and awareness for the fight to end human trafficking in the Tampa Bay area, United States, and the world. Close to two dozen hardcore and punk-leaning bands will lend their talents to the show where, at some point, Johnny Crowder of Prison, Dark Sermon and Cope Notes will give a lecture about mental illness. (The Noise Box, Brandon) INFO

Gullwing w/Frostfang/Pipe Dreamer/Cavetrains All local, and all loud. This St. Pete show has a touch of finesse on it (thanks Gullwing), but the rest of it is full-on thrash (Frostfang), stoner metal (Cavetrains) and doom-rock (Pipe Dreamer) delivered by bands from Tampa, St. Petersburg and Dunedin. Not a free show, but all ages are welcome. (Lucky You Tattoo, St. Petersburg) INFO

✔️ Courtyard Sessions One-Year Anniversary w/VSOP Vinyl Sounds on Patrol (VSOP) is what happens when music nuts from Massachusetts (DJ Blenda) and New York (DJ Shafiq) collide in Tampa and decide to throw a Saturday-night courtyard party. The evening celebrates a year of chill vibes at this Ybor City watering spot. (First Chance Last Chance Bar, Ybor City) INFO

Flat Stanley w/Old Vices/Jacob Hamilton/Hunter Miller Representatives from St. Augustine bands Telepathic Lines and Rivernecks probably won’t be taking the waterways to get to Riverview, but Jacob Hamilton and Hunter Miller will be waterside when they join Jeff Brawer’s Old Vices plus tried-and-true Tampa band Flat Stanley at this off-the-beaten-path shed and music venue where cheap beer, country and punk will collide. (The Beer Shed, Riverview) INFO

✔️ WMNF Americana Fest w/The 502s/The Hummingbirds/Cottondale Swamp/Hannah Harber & the Lionhearts/Hangtown/more If twang is your thang, then make plans to camp out at Skipper’s Smokehouse on Saturday when Bay area community radio station WMNF 88.5 FM stages its annual Americana fest where almost a dozen Florida acts (our favorites include Orlando’s Hannah Harber & the Lionhearts, Dunedin folk beardo Joshua Reilly, Tampa’s Band of Sorrows and Ted Lukas’ Hangtown project) will take the stage for an entire afternoon’s worth of alt-country, roots and rock. (Skipper’s Smokehouse, Tampa) INFO
