Classical music isn’t easy for everyone to understand, but André Rieu has spent the last 30 years trying to bring it to the masses. The 70-year-old Dutch violinist and conductor — affectionately known as the “Maestro of the Masses,” “King of the Waltz” and a “Weapon of Mass Happiness” — is one of classical’s original crossover artists, and he’s bringing his Johann Strauss Orchestra back to America in 2020.

Today, Amalie Arena announced that Rieu and the JSO will stop in on March 11, and he’s not interested in slowing down or talking about the R-word.

“I don’t understand the word ‘retirement’,” Rieu recently said. “How can you retire from music?... I’ll still be jumping about on stage when I’m 120!”

Tickets to see André Rieu at Tampa’s Amalie Arena go on sale this Saturday, October 5 on 10 a.m. and will cost $69-$139. More information is available via amaliearena.com.
