Throughout the year, Creative Loafing Tampa has tried to keep an eye out for the best local music coming out of the Bay area.

At the end of 2017, we devoted a feature to the best local releases, and we plan to do the same thing in 2018 — with one caveat. Along with our contributor-curated picks for best local releases, we'll run the best local albums of 2018 as chosen by you, the readers.

This is 100 percent your chance to be an alternative voice to our own, and it's also a good opportunity to share music that you think we've missed over the last 12 months.

To be eligible, the album or EP (no singles, please) must have been released by a Tampa Bay area artist (yes, we'll take Sarasota/Bradenton/Lakeland) between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018.

Tell us via the form below, which will will let you name your No. 1 album as well as four runners-up. The submission period will close on December 10. If you plan on dropping an album between December 10 and December 31, then please let us know via email.

Thank you.
